I had someone tell me today that they didn’t think that they could do CrossFit, but it did look like a lot of fun. My answer was “I’m sure that you can”. CrossFit is for everyone. We can scale ALL of our workouts to cater to your skill level and ability. I started doing it in 2006, and I at that point I had a 25 year fitness background. CrossFit has changed my life in more ways than one, but most people that start CrossFit don’t start it as ex-athletes or trainers. Most of the people I’ve seen start doing CrossFit are regular people looking for something new, or just trying to get in shape for the first time in their life. Some of my favorite moments in CrossFit have been seeing someone that has never done any type of fitness getting their first unassisted pull-up. I have seen men and women alike shed a tear over accomplishing something they would have never thought possible before doing CrossFit, and I have shed a tear or two with them along the way. Don’t get me wrong by thinking it’s not hard, but it’s only as hard as you make it. Just show up and put in the work, and you will surprise yourself as well. I haven’t thanked all of you that have helped me get here along the way. It’s been a long journey. I have coached world and national champions in multiple sports, and at the same time I have coached a middle aged mom of three trying to find herself again. They are different people with different goals, but CrossFit has helped them both reach their goals. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you find a way to be better today than you were yesterday, and strive to be even better tomorrow.
