It’s great to set PRs and track you progress in the gym. But I think there’s a whole additional level of self discovery and challenge to be found in getting out and competing in front of others. Being judged and held to competition standards, having spectators watch you, preparing to perform you best on a specific date, learning to control and work with adrenaline pumping are all things that you won’t get by just training in the gym. Additionally there’s the camaraderie that comes from the shared experience with your fellow competitors. I’m pictured here at the 2013 #CrossFit Games with 3x Games athlete Michele Letendre.
